Big Eye

When: It applies to any kind of mandrel critical tongues from screw channels to rectangular shelves. Big Eye can be applied to cap sections instead of AMVICO cut when the need for a free milling is required by the customer. Recommended: to any kind of aluminum alloy. Products: screw channels, tent frames, heat sinks

Butterfly Die

When: Today Butterfly Die is a registered trade mark in EU, USA and Canada. Choose the original, choose Almax Mori. Recommended: for all the aluminum alloys on the market. Products: side walls, sunshades

No Dead Zones

When: Thanks to finite elements analysis Almax Mori is capable to shape die ports, pockets and welding chambers for the less possible dead metal zones. Superior anodized quality and reduced die volume are among the main advantages of this solution. Best applications are courtain wall profiles and structural profiles that require the discard of the front-end defect. Recommended: for AA6082, AA6005, AA6063 and MAGNESIUM alloys. Products: courtain walls, structural profiles

Single Bridge

When: Single Bridge, "monorazza" in Italian, is probably the most common die design for architectural profiles. The advantages are related not ony with better surface quality but also with a reduced breakthrough force and a lower profile exit temperature. Stability of mandrel is reduced but thanks to FEA that is never an issue if you choose Almax Mori. Recommended: for soft and hard alloys. Products: courtain wall, window frames, customer profiles

Industry

Alien

When: Ask for Alien when in a need for superior roughness and roundness. Recommended: for 6000 series aluminum alloys. Products: pneumatic cylinders, round pipes

Amvico Cut

When: With AMVICO cut we can vary the bearings lenght and the degree of relief to optimize support and flow. Recommended: for 6000 series aluminum alloys. Products: heat sinks, flowers, critical tongues

Corona

When: Improved seam weld integrity and reduced exit temperature are the main benefits. Corona stands for higher productivity especially in the case of AA6082 typically subject to tearing. Recommended: for AA6082 and AA6005. Products: rollers, wheel spacers.

Fantino

When: Mandrel bridges are holed with the aim to feed at best underneath. Fantino gives its best when applied to thick profiles and low extrusion ratios. Recommended: for AA6082 and AA6005. Products: gear pumps cylinders

Pantheon

When: The principle of beam is applied to the mandrel while the feeder plate act as a stress absorber. This unique concept has been developped for the extrusion of 7000 series aluminum alloys. Products: masts, bumpers, telescopic cranes

Inverse Pyramid

When: Inverse Pyramid technology can be applied to pipes and single core hollow profiles made of 6000 and 7000 aluminum alloys. Recommended: for AA6082 and AA6005. Products: pipes

Automotive

Aluminum's role in the automotive sector is growing, currently constituting 10% of a vehicle's content. It's heavily used in extrusions for building chassis, enhancing safety systems, and constructing battery housings for electric vehicles. Its properties significantly improve vehicle performance and safety.

Caterpillar

When: The result is a more omgenius strain all over the profile section, a reduce exit temperature and therefore a superior microstructure. Recommended: for 6000 series alloys that requires T6 status and crush test. Products: bumper profiles, crush boxes

Pantheon

Straitjacket

When: The radial force applied by the Straitjacket compress the bridges thus reducing the tension stress on the drop when the mandrel is under load. Its best application are the porthole dies subject to a limited life due sudden crack of the mandrel section. Recommended: for 7000 series aluminum alloys. Products: bumpers

Zero Die Corrections

When: The mechanism is simple; we improve die design until perfection is reached. Money back if not satisfied. Recommended: for any aluminum alloy and application. Products: complex customer profiles

Dog Bone

When: Peak stress on die caps is usually located on small radii and tip of fins where the tension stress is given by tool deflection. With Dog Bone technology we apply a compression force that reduces stress where needed thus increasing die life. Recommended: for all 6000-series alloys. Products: window sill, wide solid profiles, side walls

Shrinking Ring

When: A die cap under load is subject to sever stress that can exceed plasticity limit. Using thermal shrinkage principle we apply a ring to the cap section with the aim to reduce its deflection under load and, as a consequence, the peak stress. Thanks to Shrinking Ring technology caps are more stable and their operating life can even double. Last, but not least, using a shrining ring it is possible to reduce the required die diameter and/or to give full guarantee to a die that normally would crack under load. Recommended: for all kind of aluminum alloys. Products: rail profiles

Turbo

When: Advantages are the high productivity, the low exit temperature and the superior anodizing finish. Turbo is the result of 30 years of continuous improvement in partnership with our strategic customers. Recommended: for AA6060 and AA6063. Products: truck profiles

Under The Bridge

When: With 12 years of experience in FEA our engineering office can redesign the die until the required seam-weld positions are reached. Recommended: This technology is a must in case of rail and automotive shapes often subject to a limitation in the seam weld position. Products: rail profiles, structural profiles
